Wager Card App Now in Testing

A Taste for the King has gone through some changes recently and a new mechanic has made its way into the game to address downtime for players outside of the current turn. This is wagers, which allow players who are waiting for their turn to bet on the outcome of the current turn. Because online playtesting has moved from TTS to screentop/Tabletop Playground for a couple of reasons, the online playtesting has lost the ability to draw on cards/other items on the table. As a result, to make playtesting easier I have implemented a small app that replicates the wager card.

This should also help in the case that play takes too long using a single pen for the physical game too. I would like to ship the game with a couple of pens to address slowdown with wager choices, however, as the pen is one of the most expensive single components in the game and depending on box size constraints this may be impractical.

The app can run in your browser and should work on your phone browser. If the app proves popular I can fairly easily port it to Android/Desktop and am happy to accept help testing the app on iOS.

The app is rather rudimentary in that it provides an easy to select list of the wager options. It is up to the player to remember to check their wagers at the end of the turn and enact any rewards, as would be the case with the physical card.

I have also been working on a menu app that would allow pen-less scoring. However, this was always meant as a supplementary tool for adding players to the game or allowing play in case the pen gets lost/can't quickly be replaced and as such, combined with the various changes the game has gone through, I have yet to release this app, though I may do so in the coming weeks leading up to Protospiel Online.
Ultimately if the apps prove popular I would like to combine them into one tabbed app that contains:
Menus for pen-less scoring

Action reminder card

Wagers card
