The Chocolate Factory
A downloadable game for Windows
Made for Sketchster Game Jam 2023.
It is probably best to play a Windows or Linux build if you can, the web should work but it will likely play VERY slowly. The web export is too large to load apparently :(.
Help Tev escape the evil Chocolatier's lair and bring chocolate back to his village!
Controls
WASD: Move
Shift: Sprint
Ctrl: Crouch
Space: Jump
E: Interact
Known Issues:
If you get stuck on the stairs in the last section, try looking up a bit.
If you have trouble pressing buttons in the last section, walk away, line up and try again... it's a bit of a glitch.
If you get stuck in general... Press Y to restart the current section.
Backstory
I was hoping to make the game a little more challenging with some puzzles, alas glitches slowed me down and I wasn't able to implement everything.

Nice work on the cutscenes! The dripping chocolate golems were scary!!!
I had to look in the comments in the submission section to figure out to look up when in the hole. But I finally got stumped trying to go up the stairs from the boiler area. I looked up and tried a bunch of stuff, but the poor boy just couldn't make it up those steps.
If you have a youtube video of the game, I'd love to see how the rest of the story unfolds.
Thanks :)
Yeah the stairs are a bit weird, I worked out a few minutes before the submission time that it's to do with the vertical camera angle, I think if you're looking below the horizon you lose all momentum, if you look up a little bit then he glides up the stairs like a skater, very weird 😅.
I don't have a video at the moment but I can certainly make one! TBH at the moment there's one little interaction and then a mini cutscene and the game ends with an epilogue screen, though I would like to go back and try to finish the game as I'd intended it.
